Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Singapore Life, including the web version and any app build published by K Ventures and Publishing. By installing, opening, or using Singapore Life, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Singapore Life.

1. Nature of Singapore Life

Singapore Life is a fictional interactive narrative game provided for entertainment purposes only. The events, characters, dialogue, locations, choices, consequences, eulogies, archetypes, and other game content are fictional.

Any resemblance to real persons, real events, real places, real businesses, real government agencies, real institutions, real religious organisations, real political parties, real public figures, or real causes of death is coincidental or used only in a non-defamatory, satirical, fictional, or setting-establishing manner.

2. No professional advice

Singapore Life is not legal, financial, medical, psychiatric, psychological, educational, religious, parenting, marital, vocational, career, immigration, insurance, tax, investment, or government-service advice.

You must not rely on Singapore Life as a source of real-world guidance, instructions, facts, historical accuracy, financial projections, legal rights, medical information, social statistics, or professional recommendations. Any decision you make after playing the game is made solely at your own risk and on your own judgement.

3. No endorsement or official relationship

References to identifiable institutions, brands, locations, neighbourhoods, holidays, foods, agencies, programs, public services, or cultural terms are used only as fictional setting, satire, or narrative context.

Singapore Life is not endorsed, sponsored, approved, or operated by any government agency, statutory board, school, employer, commercial entity, political party, religious institution, brand, public figure, or other third party referenced or evoked by the game.

4. Licence to use the game

Subject to your compliance with these terms, K Ventures and Publishing grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to use Singapore Life for personal, non-commercial entertainment on a device or browser you own or control.

5. Intellectual property

Singapore Life, including its source code, design, text, art, music, sound effects, narrative content, card text, character names, eulogy templates, layout, trade dress, and branding, is owned by K Ventures and Publishing or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• copy, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit any part of Singapore Life;
• modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works from Singapore Life;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code, except where applicable law prohibits that restriction;
• remove, alter, or obscure copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
• use Singapore Life content or branding in a way that suggests endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Singapore Life in any way that:

• is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or harmful;
• interferes with or disrupts the game, website, hosting, or related infrastructure;
• attempts to bypass technical restrictions or security measures;
• misuses any share feature, support channel, or contact form;
• infringes the rights of K Ventures and Publishing or any third party.

7. Age and suitability

Singapore Life is intended for users aged 13 and above. The game may include themes involving family conflict, relationship breakdown, infidelity, gambling, mental-health crises, caregiver burnout, workplace stress, death, financial collapse, and old age.

If you are under 13, you must not use Singapore Life. If you are between 13 and 18, or under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should use Singapore Life only with permission from a parent or guardian.

8. App stores and third-party services

If you access Singapore Life through an app store, browser, operating system, device backup service, share sheet, or other third-party service, that third party's own terms and policies may also apply. K Ventures and Publishing is not responsible for third-party services.

9. Privacy

Data handling for Singapore Life is described in the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these terms by reference.

10. Availability and changes

K Ventures and Publishing may update, modify, suspend, discontinue, remove, or restrict Singapore Life, any feature, any hosted build, or any related web page at any time. Experimental projects may change without notice.

K Ventures and Publishing may update these terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page. Continued use of Singapore Life after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

SINGAPORE LIFE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, K VENTURES AND PUBLISHING DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, AND FREEDOM FROM ERRORS OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

K Ventures and Publishing does not warrant that Singapore Life will meet your requirements, operate without interruption, be error-free, be secure, or produce accurate, reliable, balanced, or suitable results.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, K VENTURES AND PUBLISHING, ITS AFFILIATES, AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, OR SIMILAR DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, DEVICE ISSUES, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, PERSONAL INJURY, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, REPUTATIONAL HARM, OR DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON THE GAME.

To the extent liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, K Ventures and Publishing's maximum aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Singapore Life or these terms will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid K Ventures and Publishing for Singapore Life in the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability; or (b) SGD $1.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions and limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless K Ventures and Publishing, its affiliates, and its suppliers from and against claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:

• your use or misuse of Singapore Life;
• your violation of these terms;
• your violation of law or third-party rights;
• any decision or action you take in reliance on Singapore Life.

14. Termination

K Ventures and Publishing may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to Singapore Life at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these terms or if K Ventures and Publishing stops offering the game. Upon termination, the licence granted to you ends immediately.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or Singapore Life will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

16. Severability, waiver, and entire agreement

If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. A failure by K Ventures and Publishing to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any in-app notices, form the entire agreement between you and K Ventures and Publishing regarding Singapore Life.

17. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these terms without prior written consent from K Ventures and Publishing. K Ventures and Publishing may assign or transfer these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or other business transaction.
